Passed away September 2, 2011 with her family by her side at the age of 86 years. Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband Johnny (1984). Loving and caring mother of Marilyn Clancey (California), Jim and wife Marilyn (Windsor), and Marybeth Martens (Windsor). Grandmother to Grant, Tom, Caron, Shelby, and Sydney. Predeceased by brother Garnet Conkey (1978). Loving daughter of Nathaniel and Gladys Conkey. Special aunt of Barb Meharry. Aunt of Mark Conkey (Janice) and 2 great nieces. Predeceased by special friend Ernie Langlois (2003). Shirley enjoyed volunteering at Grace Hospital for over 25 years, canvassed for the Canadian Cancer Society, she was involved in many bridge clubs, a member of the Eastern Star, and a member of Riverside United Church. Shirley will be known and remembered for her wonderful sense of humour and the kindness she showed to others. A special thanks to the ENTIRE staff of Aspen Lakes for their wonderful care. It was second to none. If you so desire donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to Hospice Residential of Windsor –Essex County would be appreciated by the family.
Visiting on Tuesday 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Wednesday 10am from FAMILIES FIRST 1065 LAUZON RD. East Windsor (519-969-5841). Interment Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
