Stephen Peter

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our father Steve on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the age of 78 years. Dad is finally joyfully reunited with his beloved late wife Janet (Jeannette(nee Cadarette)1983). Our dad is survived by his children, Jo-Anne and husband Arthur Magri, David, Mary-Lou and husband John Lukis, Gary and his wife Shannon. Dear grandpa of Stephanie, Andrew and Christina Magri, Brandon and Veronica Peter. Predeceased by his sister Mary and husband Frank Hajdu, his brother Mike and is survived by Mike's wife Gale. He was lovingly known as "Uncle Butchie" to his many nieces and nephews. He is also fondly remembered by his sister-in-law June Baca. Our dad was a man of high ethics and solid grounding. He was a tool and die maker by trade beginning his career at Windsor Tool; working with Frank and Mike at Falcon Tool & Die, to Titan Tool & Die, and retired from General Motors Transmission Plant in 1997. True to his Hungarian heritage, Dad loved apple strudel, cabbage rolls, chicken paprikas and cherry pie. He enjoyed his yearly migrations to Florida with his brother Mike, his passion for collecting cars and proudly maintaining his family home. We give thanks to the many wonderful people of the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, among those Dr. Ghafoor and nurse Joan, Dr. Hirmiz; to Drs. Goel and Deklaj and their nurse Pat; and the nursing staff of St. Elizabeth. In kindness, donations to the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841.
