Passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Reunited with his beloved wife and best friend June (2005) on June 24, 2012 at the age of 85. Dearest father of Rose Purdy, Jackie and husband Peter Diemer of Woodslee, Cathy Russell and husband Peter (James) Harwood, and the late Carolyn Long (Oct 25, 1966). Loving son of the late George and Rosa (Pilon) Long. Treasured grandfather of Lisa Bennett (1973), Kim and Jason Ranni, Michael Bennett and Maud of Ottawa, Robert Russell and Ada of Regina, Sask., Chris Diemer and Julie, Kelly Diemer and Brad, Katie and Brian McIntosh, Carly and James Kroh, and James and Shelby Harwood. Great-grandfather of Hannah, Jacob, Jonathan, Evan, Kayleigh, Makaila, Xander (Little V) and looking forward to the arrival of baby Russell. Brother of the late Hubert and Marie Long, the late Isabel and Lucien Lavergne, the late Virginia and the late Adam Armbruster, Howard and Phyllis Long. Dear brother in law of Albert Paradis, Patricia McGregor (Donald 1999), Joseph Henry Paradis of Georgia, Olive Paradis, Jacques Paradis, the late Allan Paradis (2000), Linda Bishop and husband Steve. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and faithful companion Sammy. Victor was a graduate of Ford Trade School and worked as a tool and die maker at Ford Motor Co. for 47 years, an usher at Blessed Sacrament Church for over 40 years, sang bass with the Windsor Barbershop Chorus for 53 years, and an avid bowler at Bowlero. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Windsor-Essex Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Tuesday 7-9, Wednesday 3-5 and 7-9.
