87 years passed away on December 26, 2011 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Doris (2003). Dear brother of James D. (Linda Patch). Special uncle of Tim (Stephanie), Janis Scherer (Bill), Peggy O'Neill, Kathleen O'Neill (Ben Mitchell-Banks), Chris (Petra) and Beth Oakley (Jim). Sadly missed by many great nieces and nephews, family, friends and "Reader's Digest". Bill was a proud veteran, serving in WWII as a Sergeant in the Canadian Army with the Algonquin Regiment. A novel "Finding Bill" by Henrietta T. O'Neill has been published documenting his contribution to the Liberation of Holland. If you so desire, donations to the Windsor Historical Society-Veteran's Memories Project would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Thursday 3-5 & 7-9 pm with a Veteran's Memorial Service under the auspices of Windsor Veteran's Memorial Service Committee at 7 pm.
