Condolences & Donations

To the Marinovich family, you are in my thought's and prayer's. I grew up in the 1000 block of MacKay Ave. in the 60's and early 70's when Bob's Family was on the 1100 block of Curry Ave. and even though Bob was a few years older I got to know him through sports in the old neighborhood. I was a Detroit Red Wing fan at the time and when Bob's beloved Montreal Canadians were in Detroit to play the Wing's Bob and I went over to a game. After the game was over I convinced Bob a beer at Lindell's Athletic Club might be a good idea. There was a pretty good snow storm that night. We knew the Canadians were scheduled to fly to Buffalo right after the game in Detroit but after we were in Lindell's for about an hour in a very sparse crowd, the Montreal Canadians hockey team walked in as their flight to Buffalo was cancelled until the next morning. Needless to say, Bob was in his glory for the next couple of hours as I would approach many of the Canadians player's and invite them to our table for a beer with one of their biggest fan's from Windsor Ontario, Bob Marinovich!! Bob was great guy and I will alway's remember the good times we had together back in the day. Rest in Peace my Friend!!
