Condolences & Donations

Hard to believe a year has passed . I think of Cathy and see her in the smiles of her lovely sisters. Rest in peace, Cath!

I was blessed to sing with and be taught by this beautiful lady during 2 summers at the Berkshire Choral Festival. Although you would not know me personally, I wanted to send my condolences and how much I enjoyed Catherine's fantastic contribution to the Festival. She personally taught me how to sing the 'high notes' as a low register singer, and I will never forget it! It is all these little moments in life that build memories. My prayers are with your family at this time. Thank you for sharing Catherine will all of us.

I remember every word she said to me and to the chorus at large - such a striking person - so funny, and so bright, and so obviously in love with her husband. When teaching us to sing with fuller voices, she told us that "He hands me a glass of wine and says 'Here, Hen, throw THIS down your throat!', which makes me think of a wide pipe. When I open my throat I sound so much better...Try it!" And we did, and we did. I am so sorry that cancer has claimed another old soul before her time.

My heart is sad for all who shared part of Catherine's journey with her - as a Berkshire Choral Festival buddy (chorister who spent numerous summers singing under this glorious alto's direction) I have beautiful memories of her delightful sense of humor and fun-loving style. I'll miss her whenever I'm at BCF or even think about my BCF experiences. Rest in peace Catherine.

Cathy was a vivacious, loving colleague and friend. She inspired all with her beautiful singing and joyful spirit. She will be greatly missed. I continue to pray for her, and you, her family and friends, especially, in days ahead. May memories of Cathy inspire us all to move forward with beauty and strength she had in her earthly life! May God bless you, today, and always, Dorothy Duensing, Mezzo Soprano, Friend & teaching colleague at WSU-Detroit.

Dear Cathy, God reached out His hand inthis glorius Fall season and welcomed you home to beauty untold. He saw you were getting tired and cures were not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered "Come with Me." We will miss your laughter and your music. You have been a large part of our lives and will never be forgotten. Love, Aunts Joyce, Mae, and Eileen
