On Sunday, September 15, 2019, Christopher ‘Cookie’ Gerald Cooke, loving husband, father of one child, son, brother and uncle, passed away at the age of 43. Christopher was born on March 10, 1976 in Windsor, Ontario to Gerry and Diane Cooke. He received his high school diploma from Assumption College High School, and attended St. Clair College for civil engineering for a year. He was an accomplished athlete in his youth, winning titles and awards in basketball, volleyball, and especially his favorite sport, baseball. He worked at ACE Signs where he designed, created and manufactured neon signs.

On July 30, 2005, he married his high school crush Ruth Buado Parungao. Together, they raised one incredible daughter, Jayda Payton Parungao Cooke.Christopher enjoyed travelling throughout the U.S., playing golf, fishing, cooking in the kitchen, and spending time with his family. He was proud to coach Jayda’s sports teams (basketball, baseball, and soccer), volunteer at her school’s events, Girl Scouts, and being an aide during lunch and recess. Christopher was very congenial and loved by many. He was known for his quick wit, his handsomeness, his kind and compassionate spirit, always offering a helping hand to anyone.


Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Cooke and his grandparents, Robert and Valerie LeBoeuf, and Gerald and Helen Cooke. He is survived by his wife Ruth, his daughter Jayda, his mother Diane (stepfather John), his brothers Gerry, Mark (Alisha), and Derek (Crystal), his step-siblings Russell and Kristy, his in-laws Manuel and Merlyn, his sister-in-law Joy (Al), his nieces and nephews Alaya, Alaysia, Alexa, Alnino Jr, Kaitlyn, Dezmend, Emma, Colin, Zackary, Russy and Hayden, many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 3:00p.m.-5:00 p.m. and 7:00p.m. -9:00 pm. Visitation will resume Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 3:30-4:30. Followed by funeral service at 4:30 p.m. at Families First Funeral Home, 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor (519) 969-5841.
