So sorry to learn of your loss... I have, of course, many memories of "Mrs Valcke" from "across the street on Everts". Delores was one of my Mom's best friends. We moved into our house at 2740 around the same time as the Valckes. The street was mud...but the people were sooo nice. Over the years, Jane and I got to know and love the Valckes. I so remember that "big" family...and who can forget that excellent baking? It was always a treat when Delores sent something SWEET over to the Rhodes' with one of the kids! The Engelhardts, the Valckes and the Rhodes were almost one big family in those early days on Everts...and now all has changed. (Irene Engelhardt died a while ago, in case you don't know.) To the Valcke Family My sincerest sympathy on the loss of your mother.Seeing her picture I was instantly taken back some 40 years ago when she ever so graciously welcomed and fed a large group of us from residence.Such a lovely meal away from the cafeteria food we were use to was a real treat.. Dear Valcke Family - was saddened to hear about the loss of your mom. Odd because today I was speaking with one of the Prieur girls and we commented about the large families in the neighbourhood and of course the Valcke name came up. Those were times of fun, friendship and caring.
