Dona was our friend, neighbor, fellow ucre player, campfire buddy, with lots of funny jokes and stories and some very interesting and intelligent conversations. He always had a kiss, a hug or a handshake for everyone and an I love you for us. He was a happy man, that had an exceptional life. We were blessed to be a part of it these last 8 years. We are going to miss him very much, and I know we will all see each other again. Our mother Jean Nantais will miss him as well as they became casual friends. Thank you Dona for your friendship, Love Brian, Linda, Jean, Jordan, Vanessa, Logan, Emma, Ben, Ross, Shane, Salena, Lukas, Steph, Austen and Aubrey, The Barker Family

We have lost a family treasure. Whether you call him Dad. Grandpa, Uncle Dona or just met him, I am certain he told you some story or joke that left you laughing. He'd be laughing too.... Wiping tears as he told it... Like him and his brothers hiding up in the tree eating apples or something funny that one of his kids or grandkids got into. Family meant everything to him, and he loved every minute he got to spend with them. When I joined the family, I was amazed at how many people could fit into one house every weekend. Card games, hockey, country music and maybe a guitar or fiddle would come out. Somehow, there was always enough food for everyone, whether it was mom's turkey dinner, or dad's french toast. Lots of love and laughs to go around. You have always been a special part of my life and I'm going to miss you but will never forget the love you and mom shared. As you walked away from this world, after 93 years, with it's crazy rules of no visiting, no hugging and the smell of hand sanitizer everywhere I'm sure you heard country music, smelled the pies cooking and many familiar voices calling you. And there was Dot holding Heaven's gates open saying "com'on Dona, we've been waiting!" R.I.P.
Love, Barb

Bless you Dad! Your legacy lives on in each and every one of us. Your love, care and support for every individual in our blessed family will live on. You built this family on a strong foundation, nurtured it with love and tendered it with joy. We love you, will miss you dreadfully but will hold you close in our hearts. In marrying Jim I thought he was my blessing, however Jim was the provider of another bigger blessing. His children, his sibblings and the best in laws a woman could ask for. Thanks Daddy! I love you. Give Mum, Dianne and Jim a big hug for all of us please. "Well done, my good and faithful Son!" ❤
