Dorothy Fitch

Called Home in peace on February 20, 2012 with family by her side. Loving wife of the late Lorne Fitch. Predeceased by her daughter Judith O'Neil, son-in-law Murray O'Neil and her grandson Andrew O'Neil. Cherished grandmother of Elizabeth and fiancé Claude Meurehg. Loved aunt of Linda Daniels, Bob and Suzanne Russell and Bill Robert. Special "grandmother" of Shauna Romaniuk, Rose Johnson and Stephanie Stevens. She will be sadly missed by many family members, neighbours and close friends. Dorothy lived a long, generous, and loving life in Windsor, leaving only when called to do so by her husband's role in the RCAF and his professional responsibilities. She excelled in providing care and love as a wife, mother and grandmother, and also as a Grace Hospital volunteer for over 25 years. Her love of community and her faith were demonstrated in her devotion to the Seniors' Programs at the Salvation Army South Windsor Citadel and Parkwood Gospel Temple, where she leaves behind many good friends. Her family wishes to thank the wonderful medical and the 2 North nursing staff of Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital and the entire staff at Seasons Royal Oak Village (LaSalle) for their exceptional care. If you so desire, donations to the Salvation Army South Windsor Citadel or the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Dorothy will be resting Friday 7-9 p.m. at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Victoria Memorial Gardens.
