Kathy, I remember being at your parents' house on Randolph when your mom came home with lots of shopping bags and it was obvious that she had driven all over the city scouring stores to find perfect gifts for her family as if it were a labour of love. I remember her not minding when we made pitchers of strawberry daquiris using every strawberry in the house and seriously raiding the liquor cabinet. I remember that she thought the pool was un-swimable if the water temp wasn't 90. And I distinctly remember the obvious love she had for your "grum". I know your bond with your mom is as strong. There are no words that I can offer to make you feel better but be comforted by the fact that you were there for her and did everything you could to support her battle. Its unreal that we lost Renzo and Dot at the same time. I'd like to think that they are in heaven together talking about how they did a pretty good job with us. Love, Brenda

Dorothy was a frequent customer at Vinnie's Bakery in LaSalle. We had just seen her last week, she had come in for a sandwich. When I saw her obituary in the paper today, I couldn't believe it was her. Please know how highly we thought of her at the bakery. She is truly an angel. May she rest in peace.
