A Friend

Elaine & I grew up at different times in the small town of Essex, Ontario. We became family friends in Elaine's early years. She remained in Essex while I moved away to LaSalle.

Some years later, we crossed paths again & picked up our friendships. Elaine was now in Windsor. We became closer friends.

Elaine balanced her job & homelife & became a Volunteer Worker with Dr.Norman A.McCormick Chapter IODE. She helped with IODE project for Windsor & Essex County Charities. She convinced Shane to wash dishes at our Annual Applebee's Pancake Fund Raiser.

Elaine was a conscientious employee of Transit Windsor. She raised a family, maintained a household & directed her children to pursue a higher education & university. She worked her job during the day & attended university courses at night to upgrade herself. She soon attained her dream job in H.R. at Border Link, formally Windsor-Detroit Tunnel Corporation. She was on her way.

Suddenly  her life changed. She was diagnosed with Stage 4, Pancreatic Cancer. She was put on a strong regiment of Chemo & Radiation.

Elaine was a quiet, determined, exceptional lady. We will miss her beautiful smile, flaming red hair & outgoing personality.

I miss you, Cuz.
