Elizabeth Lavin

59 years, peacefully, on February 8, 2012 at her home in Woodslee with her husband of 39 years, Terry Whyte, at her side and after a courageous 2 –year battle with cancer. Beloved daughter of the late Thomas A. Lavin (2006) and Audrey Lavin (Connor). Dear sister of Ursula Mathers (Gil), the late John (2005)(Theresa), Dick ( Janet), Pat ( Beverly), Jo-Ann Deroy, the late Paul (1984), Margaret Lavin, and Dan( Nina). Special aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and her special pal Springer Spaniel ‘Buster Brown'. Betsy was drawn to the west where she resided with Terry for 35 years in Calgary and the surrounding area during which time she was a mens' hairstylist and where she was the hostess of many memorable Lavin family vacations. Eventually they built their dream home on their 60 acre spread where they raised sheep and enjoyed their horses. In 2007 Betsy and Terry returned to Essex County to be close to her family and especially to care for her Mother. Betsy loved animals, open spaces, quiet home times, cooking and SHOPPING!! She will be forever remembered for her great sense of humour, her caring nature, and her thoughtfulness right to the end. Special thanks to the Hospice of Windsor, the CCAC, VON nurses Vicky and Linda. In kindness, a donation to the Essex County Humane Society would be appreciated. Cremation has taken place and a memorial will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Families First 1065 Lauzon Rd. East Windsor 519-969-5841.
