To the O'Brien Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you, how lucky you were to have your Father with you for such a long time. I am a "Brewer" and my memory of your Dad goes back forever, he and your Mom were best friends of my Mom and Dad. I can never forget the twinkle in his eye and the laugh in his heart and his kind words spoken. May your memories keep you laughing for many years to come. They are all together now watching down on us. Barbara Marie Bird (Brewer)

My sincere condolences to all the family of Mr. O'Brien. He was such a good man, he was there for me when my wife passed away. At the age of 88,89, I used to pick him up on occassion to go to church- I would always ask "How are you doing Mr. O he would always response "good, good, very good" what a man he was- sure missed him when he left his home here, just not the same without him- god bless Mark Soulliere

I have many fond memories of both your Mother and Father. They will always be a part of my youth. I was saddened to read of your Father's passing and I am sure that you will share many memories with yous siblings over these next few days. Embrace each other and be thankful that you were able to have your Father in your lives for such a long time. I will be keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers. To The O'Brien Family My condolences go out to your entire family on the loss of our beloved Bud. I feel honored to have been able to be part of Bud's life in his last chapter. He was as you all no one of a kind. He lit up the room when ever he came in and this you could tell by the faces of all who knew him. Bud you have definitely left a footprint on all our hearts who had the pleasure of knowing you. You have earned your wings.

I was lucky enough to land a job as Mr. O'Brien's secretary at Ford many years ago. Gerry treated me (and all of the Purchasing staff) with the utmost respect, fairness and kindness. He was smart and efficient but also very congenial with a great sense of humour. I met his devoted children and lovely wife and was made to feel part of the family. Years later, my husband George and I met up with Gerry again while taking hockey photos at Riverside Arena. Gerry was following his grandchildren's hockey with great enthusiasm and we were privileged to take his photo with the grandkids. We are happy that this fine gentleman lived such a good long life, leaving wonderful memories for all who knew him. ..Nicki and George Brooks

Please accept my sincere condolences. I did not have the opportunity to know Bud a long time. He was my mother's table mate at Extendicare Tecumseh. He always had a smile, a little joke and a kind word. He reassured me that my mother was eating better, when he was going through his own trials. Yesterday, Remi was so sad and Gordon didn't even come to lunch. He brightened the World for many, and will be greatly missed. It was an honour and pleasure to have known him. God's Speed, Bud! I only got to meet Bud once, but it was really memorable. My wife Colleen is one of his grandchildren and we took "Grandpa" out to breakfast. It was his favourite diner, in Windsor, (can't remember the name, but it was on the outskirts of town, I think) and it was obvious he was a regular and well-liked by the wait staff. They all new him by name and new he liked his bacon "extra crispy". We'll miss you Grandpa Bud!

What a wonderful gentleman Mr. O'Brien was! And the very best neighbour ever! We recall that when we moved in next door to Bud on Labour Day weekend in 1985 he came over to introduce himself. He had a fresh bag of vienna bread in his hands and told us his family was coming for the long weekend and would our children like to come and watch movies with his grandchildren. And for many years after, we would see holiday family gatherings at his home. We dubbed the O'Brien Clan as our "Norman Rockwell" family. It's a credit to Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien that they raised such lovely children. We've lost a lovely gentleman......he will be missed! Our sincere condolences to Bud's family!
