Condolences & Donations

Please accept my deepest condolences. I am praying for strength and comfort for you at this time. Let me say Irene was my mom's closest & dearest friend for many years (Mrs. Jean Vollans). My mom before she passed away also enjoyed playing the kazoo with a band that entertained at many rest homes. Irene was a long standing bridge player along with my mom and other dear close friends, these woman maintained their weekly card games for many years. When reading of Irene's passing the tears came very quickly as i remember first meeting Irene....she is now playing bridge with her dear friends that have been waiting for her - you will be missed xo

Eugene and family, I am very sad to read of this today. I loved working with Irene at Benson. She was right across the hall and we saw each other many times a day. She was so welcoming to me when I first came to Benson. I will also remember all the help she gave me when I came to Kindergarten after she retired. Also, I know you and Pete are related somehow and he sends his condolences to you also. Take care and always remember the joy she brought to many children. Nancy Johns-Root

Eugene, Margaret, and Families, Patricia and I Extend Our Sincere Sympathy in such great loss, while the Many Wonderfull Memories Return Of Bygone days. Gene, You and I shared many moments of camaraderie at the Green Giant/Pillsbury over the years, whether it be in regard to work, conversing over lunch in the office and especially in regard to our families. We would talk of their current happenings and with pride as to their ambitions, you with Darien and Margy and I with Wayne working when a student during the summers at the plant, and Lynne who worked elsewhere during one summer while enjoying being a co-worker with Darien whom we would sadly later lose. Memories of Irene's "bubbly" nature will never be forgotten, and I recall one occasion when visiting at Oak Park, she as a member of a musical group were entertaining the residents, thus Patricia and I enjoyed the music festivities by dancing to a few old tunes. The residents, with many somewhat limited in their activity due to health and/or age, certainly expressed their enjoyment while voicing of the past when they could dance to such fine musical entertainment. Well, when the entertainment stopped, Irene whom we had not seen for some years came over immediately to greet us, and somewhat to the amazement of everyone hugged and gave me Don a big "smooch" on the cheek. Gene, when we next visit Windsor we'll call in as we must not lose contact with a dear old friend. Don & Patricia Borrowman Family

Marg, Tom, Alex and Danielle, We are so saddened to hear of the loss of your loving mother and grandmother. We have such good memories of Mrs. Hardy visiting Carlisle - grandparents' day, soccer games, graduations and on and on. Whether it was a child or an adult, she showed such kindness and interest in others. Nate and Jenna will always remember her as the "camping" grandmother - what a gem!!
