Condolences & Donations

To the Kornelsen's My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Although I did not know John in his later years I do remember the good times we shared when I was a kid. We had many tractor rides and bon fires in his backyard. My heart is with you, Andrea and Drew. He was a great father and I know he loved you both very much. John's spirit will go on through his kids, his wonderful wife, Sherry and all of us who remember John for the amazing man he was. May God be with you all. Rhonda.

I have fond memories of afternoons spent at the Kornelson home in Wheatley. When I was small, my Mom (nee Hilda Kornelson) left me with Uncle Henry and Aunt Mary on occasion, and those two had to be the kindest people on earth, and Johnny the most fun. So sorry for your loss, Larry Dick

Dear Sherry, Andrea & Drew On Jan 12th, 2009, our family lost a very close dear friend. It is very difficult to express how sorry we were to hear about John's passing. My late wife Michelle & I have known John & Sherry since the early 60's. We have shared so many fond memories during this time:--as victorious team-mates in Civic Hockey League, Sunday Night LaSalle League, in numerous Old Timer Hockey Tournaments, our annual summer golf outings, family get-togethers and John & Michelle's birthday celebrations. I wish I could pay greater tribute to John but those of us who knew John will understand. He will be greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate to share his friendship. I would like to share my sister's condolences for my late Michelle;--"There is a saying:.....We never touch someone so lightly that we never leave a trace." John certainly left his trace on all of us and I am truly thankful for that. John rest in peace, and when you see my Michelle have a martini or two and share a few laughs together, and don't show up all those heavenly team-mates of yours on the hockey and golf teams...So long my friend. ---With my deepest sympathies--Your long time friend--Ron Godwin

We were very sorry to hear about John's death. I (Ericka) remember coming to your house in Wheatley and mostly play with Ruth Ann who was my age, but there was that "younger brother!". Our moms were sisters and very close so it was always fun to visit. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Rickey and Myron Schrag.
