Joseph Demers

Passed away peacefully on November 23, 2009 at 87 years of age. Beloved husband of 67 years to Aurore "Anne" (nee Rivait). Cherished father of Raymond and wife Carole Demers, Gerard and wife Mary Lou Demers, Roger and wife Joan Demers, Annette and husband Guy Papineau, Jeanne Garand, Jeannette and husband Gary Quenneville, Lucille Hubley and husband Ken Gurr. Dear son of the late Damase and Rose Anne Demers. Loving grandfather of 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Lionel and wife Jeanne Demers, Alderic and wife Cecile Demers, Germain and Claire Demers (the late Fleurette Demers), Remi and wife Suzanne Demers, Agathe and husband Maurice Raby, Marie Marthe wife of the late Noël Boileau, Rachel and husband Raymond Bertrand and the late Madeline Demers. Joe was a veteran of WWII serving with the Canadian Army (Royal 22e Régiment Van Doos & Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, PPCLI). He was retired from Chrysler of Canada and a member of CAW local 444. If you so desire, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Visiting Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers Wednesday at 4 p.m. & Veteran's Memorial Service under the auspices of Windsor Veteran's Memorial Service Committee Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Families First Funeral Home & Tribute Centre (519-969-5841) 3260 Dougall Ave. On Thursday, family and friends are invited to meet after 9:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 1400 Cabana Rd. W. until the time of the Mass at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
