Condolences & Donations

My sincere condolences go to Joe's family and friends. Joe was my mentor and friend when I was a rookie teacher at Assumption H.S. in the early 70's. Memories of his warmth, humour and leadership greatly contributed to my development both as an educator and a person. May he rest in peace knowing he was much loved. Wally and Sharon Mytka London, ON

Dear Mary Agnes and children We have fond memories of visits to you and Joe as we grew up in Windsor in the late 60's . You and Joe always had a way of making us feel that everything was a party . His love of life and singing made us all believe that life was full of joy. Thank you , aunt Mary Agnes for all the good times in our younger years. May you and your children be comforted by our Lord at this time of grieving. May Joe's soul rest in peace. Love Marilynn and Rick Leskun

Uncle Joe was my hero growing up. He was never afraid to try something new. Like the time we helped him build the cottages for my Mother and Father in Oscoda Mich. He was my incentive to do the same. I will miss him.

When you think of Uncle Joe you have to smile. Recently we went out to dinner with some of George's co workers and during this time we realized that Uncle Joe taught her in school. They shared some fun stories and yes, it made us smile. To know what a wonderful man gave in his life, the lives he touched, and that he did it with a loving and kind heart is why he is loved so much. My memories are of a man that was fun loving and very caring. I am blessed because I got to call him uncle and listen to some of his stories. Peace.

Thank you for all the giggles you created when we were kids by the jokes and songs you told us. We might not of fully understood them ,but the look on Aunt Mary Agnes' face and her saying "Joseph" we knew it had to be funny. Thanks for trusting me with the keys to the convertible Mustang. GOOD TIMES!! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!

Uncle Joe and his sister Denise were pretty tight. I remember my grandma (Denise)taking us across the border to see Uncle Joe, Aunt Mary Agnes, Paul and Jennifer. It was a BIG deal for sure. I had so much fun with him and I will always remember him letting me stay there when my mom was traveling, and how he had me try baked beans (gross!). I was always in a little bit of awe with Uncle Joe. He made me laugh and I always knew he loved me...and I think he knew I loved him. He's up there with grandma and grandpa now and I know they are sitting out by a lake catching up and I am sure having a good time and a great laugh. Love you Uncle Joe...just in case you didn't know.

I have had so many memories this week about Uncle Joe. Starting with when I was a small girl and Uncle Joe would come to visit. He was teaching at an all boys school and would bring my brothers and I scarfs, gloves, skates, etc. I never got girl skates He was a big deal for us kids. So big and strong. He would pick me up (it seemed) so hig, and he would show us how he could tear a phone book in half. Then there are all those memories of up on the lake. He helped my Dad and brothers build both cottages; all the salmon fishing and the beers arould the camp fire. I will toast you on the deck at the lake next week. Say hi to Mom and Dad. I am sure they were waiting for you with open arms. Love you!
