Well, where does one begin when it comes to my Dear Aunt Mary....she was the best Mother, Sister,Grandmother, and most of all a real lady....my Aunt Mary...not my Aunt at all, but a cousin was like a mother to me....she praised me, encouraged me, and yes scolded me ....especially when at the very top of her favourite Maple tree....which by the way was at least 100 feet tall...which in those days of course....everything was bigger...especially when your were a kid...."you kids....get down from there right now"....of course we ignored her because we knew she actually could not see us up there among the leaves...she knew we were there though...I know her birthday cakes have already been mentioned....but...as a kid in the fifties...five cents was a lot of money and you could get a whole bag of penny candy down at the local market for that....so Aunt Mary's cakes were pretty valuable because if you were lucky you might get the prized Twenty Five Cent Piece....Hoooraaay!!!,man..you had enough candy to rot your teeth for a whole month!!Oh..and also her Christmas Candy which...I forgot was so good ...MJA....brought some to Vancouver Is. for us and another memory was ressurected...I could go on and on...I was so lucky to have Aunt Mary and Uncle Ed along side my parents who gave us stability along with a sense of adventurism which still endures among all of us today.... ...will see you and Uncle Ed again some day...............
