Nicholas Kouvelas
Passed away peacefully at Met Hospital on December 18, 2019 at the age of 97. Survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Demitra (Jean). Devoted father to Dean and Georgene (Carl). Proud Papou to Erica (Doug), Casey and Taylor (Samantha). Loving brother to Charles. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Nick was born in Detroit, Michigan.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII, life member Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, life member Great Western Lodge No. 47, Scottish Rite Lodge of Perfection, Scottish Rite Rose Croix 32nd degree, Past President of Moramos Shrine Club, Past Chairman of the Million Dollar Club and member of the Royal Order of Jesters. In lieu of flowers, donations to Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital (Montreal), Windsor Humane Society and Transition to Betterness would be appreciated. Heartfelt thank you to the 4th floor oncology nurses at Met, and special thanks to Nurse Evan and Dr. Wendy Kennette.
