Norene Grineau

Passed away suddenly on January 18, 2012 at the age of 67 years. Loving wife and companion of 44 years to the late Lorne (2010). She is survived by her son Joel in Calgary, son Todd in Michigan, and son Trevor and wife Michelle in Windsor. Her seven grandchildren – Sierra, Anthony, Logan, Piper, Abbey, Malcolm and Harper who will dearly miss their grandmother. Norene is also survived by her brother Gary in Glanworth, brother Bill and wife Jewel in St. Thomas, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Earl, her mother Grace (nee Drewitt) and her beloved younger sister Nancy. Norene was born in Woodstock and grew up in Mapleton. She loved days at the lake and won several competitive swimming medals as a teen. She graduated from Arthur Voaden Vocational School and proceeded to work in St. Thomas where she met Lorne. After raising her three sons, she returned to work in accounts payable at several companies. Her last position was at Amico for the last 13 years, along side many co-workers and friends who will miss her. Norene was a life long gardener – family and friends enjoyed the vegetables that she grew. Her flower beds were well tended and well known and gave her and others great joy. She was an avid curler and skater. She believed that family was the cornerstone of life, always putting family first, always organizing family events over the years. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation. Cremation has taken place.
