Ric was as dedicated pioneer of the Windsor/Essex environment movement. At a time when the thick, black smoke from industry indicated success, Ric was raising the alarm about our air, water and earth concerns. It was this man who resurrected our annual Earth Day celebration and heightened the awareness of the dangers of failing to react to some of these issues.
He was willing to invest time and effort into anybody who would listen and participate in saving and improving what we have environmentally.
The successful CAW lo. 200 Environment Committee owes Ric a debt of gratitude for his input.
I believe that our cleaner environment and many of the people who strive to protect it, owe it to Ric's tenacity to some degree
Thank you Ric, for the legacy that you have left us with.

Derek, Can't express adequately the loss of your father is to all those who knew him, worked with him and were inspired by his grit and vision for a healthier planet and hopeful future. He stood alone at first but then motivated others to step up and make a difference. He was a rare individual and his life works will resonate for a long time. Dear Derek: I am deeply sorry for your loss. Brother Rick is an icon in our community, and we will feel his loss also. I used to read his Environment reports at WDLC, which were precise and amazing. He educated so many.
