I went to school with Mr. McMaster's son in grade and high school. I also had Mr McMaster as a teacher at St. Clair College. He had a gruff and ornery personality at times. However this was just a act. His considerable knowledge of his trade was only surpassed by his warmth and caring towards students of all ages and backgrounds.

Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the whole family. A great teacher, a great man!

Shannon, Bev, Rick and family, There are no words to express how saddened we are to hear of Rick's passing. I hadn't seen him in years and then about 2 months ago I ran into him at Walmart. It was such a pleasure to see him again after all that time (and Bev, too). We chatted for a couple of minutes and in those minutes he spoke with great pride of his kids and grandkids. How Shannon was going back to school to be a nurse, how his grand-daughter's birthday was coming up, how big they were getting. It was so evident the love he had for you all and how proud he was of each of you. Shannon, in all the years we spent together as friends, I witnessed first hand how much you loved your dad, how much he meant to you all and what an important and much loved member of the family he was. With me being so close to my dad, I understand fully how painful this is for you all and I want you all to know that each of us is sending our deepest, heartfelt sympathies to each of you on the loss of such a great man. We wish you all comfort and strength during this painful time and may the wonderful memories and love Rick leaves behind bring you all some much needed comfort. Holding you all close in thought and with love.

Sorry to hear of Ricks' passing. I worked at the college for many years and dealt with Rick many times between my stints in payroll & scheduling. He could be a little gruff when his schedule was not to his liking but he was always pleasant when he came to my office. We had a few laughs and good conversations. Sorry for your loss!

So sorry to hear of the loss of your husband/father/grandfather/brother. He was a great teacher and a good friend. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
