Condolences & Donations

My condolences to the Benkendorf family for the loss of Bob ( known to most of us as Benky) , a quiet private man who was a very good friend of mine the past 50 years. We enjoyed many good times over the years, playing cribbage, backgammon, euchre and going to Tiger games and bar hopping at various places throughout the city. Bob was always reliable and trustworthy and as solid a friend as you could have. I know he had many health issues recently and it is reassuring that he is finally at peace. Rest in peace good buddy, I will miss you dearly.

I remember a quiet, kinda shy, unassuming gentle fellow, who couldn't always hide the small wound in his soul. But now you've been set free, dear man, to pursue a path that will bring you to that place where all healing takes place. Relax, breathe and become your perfect, authentic self once again. BBQ

THE DASH
by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak at a funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning… to the end.
He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time they spent alive on earth and now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own, the cars… the house… the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard; are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left that still can be rearranged.
To be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile… remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.
So when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash, would you be proud of the things they say about how you lived your dash?

You were loved!!!
You will be missed by your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren! Until we meet again, rest easy sweet soul. Kerri 💕

Grandpa Bob,
I did not know you as well as I wish I had on a personal level. I do remember meeting you when I was younger and you had given me a birthday card! I wish we had more time, and I wish there was more opportunity to have had you in my life. You were a very handsome man!
Until we meet again Grandpa Bob; you are loved.

Sorry to hear about your brother, Rick but glad to hear you are still with us. I sometimes wonder whatever happened to the Shawnee vets. Drop me an email when you get a chance.
Cheers,
