I am sad indeed to hear that one of my favourite teachers has moved on from this world. My entire grade 6 class at Woodstock School in India will always have fond and vivid memories of the new teacher that whipped our unruly bunch into the envy of the other teachers. Mr Hays and I had a special bond because I was a fellow Canadian from Toronto. He was an inspirational teacher and a terrific track and field coach. I have always regretted that I did not try harder to find him after I returned to Canada and graduated from University. Self discipline, setting manageable goals and believing in yourself are the life lessons I learned from him. I think my classmates would agree that we are better people from having known Mr Scott Hays at a very important stage of our lives.

Doris, I wish to express my sadness at hearing of Scott's passing. He was a special person and will be missed.
