William Joseph Milner

MILNER, William Joseph (Bill)

On October 31, 2003, at 71 years of age. Beloved husband of Carolyne (nee Moore). Predeceased (March 7, 1996) by his first wife Doreen (nee Young). Born in Walkerville February 20, 1932, son of the late Robert Stewart Milner (1964) and Edna Josephine (nee Giroux) (1969). Dear brother of Marie Bissetto and Eileen Dade (Gord). Also survived by nephews Ken Milner (Charlene), and Billy Bissetto, and nieces Kim Pierschke, Kelly Soulliere, Debbie Durocher (Tim) and their children. Bill was a longtime employee of Chrysler, starting on the assembly line and quickly rising through management ranks, retiring as Plant Manager of the Van Plant in 1993. Bill left school at an early age due to the family's financial situation to join his father in the automotive collision repair business. One of Bill's proudest accomplishments was to complete his Secondary education through correspondence classes and go on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree after long years of sacrifice and study. Many late nights and early morning weekends were devoted to hours of study while still maintaining his ever increasing work load and responsibilities in Chrysler management. Bill spent a prior ten years with the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Military Police Division. He served five of those years in Europe with the NATO peacetime forces in France and Germany. Bill was very proud of his years with the Military, serving as a senior investigator with the Canadian Military in Europe. He had a great fondness for things military and felt that his experiences at that time shaped his character and development. He was very generous, with a broad sense of humour, and treasured close family ties to his sisters and Carolyne's children, Thomas Brouillette (Karen), Theresa Martindale (David) and their children. If you so desire, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Saturday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sharing of Memories Sunday 8pm. Bills last good-bye will be shared Monday 12 noon at Families First Funeral Home & Chapel Inc. (969-5841) 2670 Dougall Ave. Interment Victoria Memorial Gardens.
