Monarch Secondary

My first teaching position as the ‘new kid’ was at Monarch S. S. in 1976 and that is exactly what Fred called me ‘the kid’. I was from out of town and the Monarch staff became my family for the next 10 years. There wasn’t a time Fred wouldn’t push my old car into a bay to be worked on or let the students paint his nails bright red in my Cosmetology class to earn marks for a manicure. He sent his shop coats up to us for repairs and new buttons. Those were our glory years. Staff parties with your parents were a million laughs and your Dad had one of the best. Fred was always extremely proud of his children. To the Frazer clan I send my deepest sympathies. Eternal peace Fred. Cherished memories will live on. Gail Hargreaves
